Canoe School will be offering, as its core program, the Paddle Canada Lake Canoe Tandem Introductory Instructor course.
In addition, two other Paddle Canada skills courses are being offered:
- Lake Canoe Introductory Tandem & Solo
- Lake Canoe Advanced Solo
Paddle Canada – Lake Canoe Tandem Introductory Instructor:
The Paddle Canada Lake Canoe Introductory Tandem Instructor course is ideal for those wanting to teach tandem canoeing at the introductory level. It would be suitable for those wanting to become professional instructors, teaching canoeing in a camp setting as well as professional guides who have to teach canoeing skills to their clients. The emphasis of the course is on teaching rather than skills. Candidates will be expected to have paddling skills at the Paddle Canada ‘Lake Canoe Intermediate Tandem’ level. While certification at this level is not specifically required, candidates will be expected to demonstrate paddling skills to this level. Candidates may be awarded Paddle Canada certification at a lower level if they do not achieve the course level.
Paddle Canada – Lake Canoe Introductory Tandem & Lake Solo:
The Paddle Canada Lake Canoe Introductory Tandem & Solo courses teach the basics of tandem and solo paddling. They form the initial building blocks for all advanced courses. Canoe School is an excellent opportunity in a wonderful setting to explore the fundamentals of solo and tandem paddling, and develop the confidence and skills necessary to move into any disciple of paddling.
Paddle Canada – Lake Canoe Advanced Solo:
If you are comfortable paddling a canoe and want to take it to the next level, this course is for you. The Paddle Canada Lake Canoe Advanced Solo course will teach you to paddle a canoe by yourself in ways you never thought possible. The course also teaches practical skills such as basic navigation, weather and, of course, safety. Candidates will be awarded either Intermediate or Advanced certification depending on level they achieve.
